Dear Engine 2 Family,
We want to take a moment to thank you for another wonderful year! We are humbled and honored that you have included us in your journey to better health, and we continually learn from all of you.
You have taught us so much this year, you have encouraged and inspired us in countless ways. With out all of you we could not be here, and for that we are forever grateful.
We hope to continue to help you in your plant-strong journeys in 2012 and hope to meet many more of you this coming year! We are excited about what the future holds, but mostly we are excited that you will be a part of it.
Happy plant-strong 2012!
Rip, Adam, Dani & Natala (The Engine 2 Team)

THANK YOU RIP!! You have been so helpful this year! Every blog post, every question answered on facebook and twitter! You are the bomb!
Thanks for making us feel like part of the family. I don’t get support from home, but I go to your facebook page every day and the blog and I feel like I’m part of something. Thanks guys! I hope you have an immersion in Philadelphia this year!
This post made me cry! I love you guys so much, you have changed my life so much this year! I too have been all over your facebook and twitter and this blog. I really love all of it. LOVE RIP and LOVE the Kitchen Rescue!!!
I have just started the engine 2 diet but wanted to comment on being heart attack proof if you have low total cholesterol. I don’t smoke, am not overweight, have no family history of heart disease and I have been a marathon runner for years. My total cholesterol was 105, my HDL was over 70 and my LDis was 38 when I had a heart attack on March 15th 2011. I was told that I was heart attack proof by my doctors to because I had no risk factors but I had a heart attack. I was eating well at the time but wasn’t on a total plant based diet. I have now been a vegan for 6 months but didn’t feel like I was eating very well. I have just started your diet because it seems to be very balanced. I don’t know how much lower I can get my numbers but I guess we’ll find out. But, I just wanted to say that no one is completely heart attack proof.
Thanks Rip for all you do!
Love E2! Watched Forks Over Knives this year, got the Engine 2 book and I’ve made a lot of big changes! Can’t wait for 2012!! Thinking about going to an immersion!!
Thanks E2 for everything! Love your book!! Love your website as well! Great work!
Plant-Strong army marches on!
So Fonda.. your story really bums me out.. i am sorry to hear that story and it is a bit demotivating. However, I am sure that staying as fit as you are helped you through the illness over someone that was over-weight and obese and suffering from mulitple illnesses.. i have failed on all diets, drinking, being my key issue. i Have had high blood pressure since i was 26 and have been on meds since then (20 years plus) and have been on statins for 3 years now with a total cholesterol of 179 , LDL of 99 WITH THE MEDS.. I am going to embark on the e2 challenge on Jan.2nd and hope that i can reduce my current risk.. I guess that is all we can do.. is control what we can and give us the best chance for a happy long life.. Take care and hope you never have another HA.
Thanks Ticonderoga for your comment. Yes, it was unbelievable to me too that someone who had done everything right, could have a heart attack. I never ate fast food or high fat foods, but I did eat meat so that may have been my down fall. I am now doing the E2 lifestyle and I’m hoping to never have another heart attack and looking forward to better running times! If Rip can have such great results, so can I. Good luck to you, I know you are going to do great!!
Sorry Tico about your name above…My computer auto corrected : )

Thank you Rip for simplifying this for everyone. I just started a few days ago and can’t wait until my numbers change for the better. Thank you!!!
Changed to vegan day after Thanksgiving. Cholesterol went from 244 to 208. However, did not lose weight which I desperately need to do (at least 60 pounds). Going to try the E-2 diet challenge in Sarasota at whole foods when I get there next week. I am 61 and need a lifestyle change that will work. I feel like I have been dieting all my adult life and getting nowhere.
Never ever posted anything before, I really am desperate.
