21 May Plant-Strong Learning

24.

That is the number of lectures each participant listens to during our week long retreat. By the end of the week participants have heard every thing from how oil damages the endothelial lining to the best plant-strong products out there. In addition, they get to see and participate in 5 cooking demos, it’s kind of like arts and crafts, everyone gets to make whatever is being demoed that night.

It is a lot of information to get a grasp on in just a week. People walk through the doors on day 1 and many will tell us that they are not sure if this plant-strong thing is for them. One participant told me about the fast food meal they had that morning before coming to the retreat, and said that they just can’t imagine doing this for life. By the end of day 1, that same person came up to me and said they were more than convinced and were ready to change their health and the way they ate for good.

Learning is an essential part of our retreats. It should be an essential part of an ongoing process to further your understanding of the connection of food and health. Even if you don’t get out to one of our retreats, the learning should be a big part of your daily practice.

You don’t even have to purchase a book. Simply start with the resources section on Engine 2! There you will find lots of articles and even an 8 week kids series and free Family and Children eBook. We also have 100’s of past blogs that cover everything from working out to how to make lentil crumbles. From there you might want to check out Dr.McDougalls website and all of the resources he has, or Jeff Novick’s site with lots of great, informative articles. Dr. Campell’s site is also jam packed with information, articles, studies and more. Dr. Esselstyn has a few great articles, videos and a FAQ section that is really helpful. There are also lots of great resources out there for plant-strong cooking. Fat Free Vegan, Straight Up Food, Happy Herbivore are great places to start.

You can also check out lots of lectures on youtube, simply do a search for any of the amazing teachers, Dr. Campbell, Dr. McDougall, Dr. Esselstyn, Doug Lisle, PhD, Jeff Novick, MS, RD and you will find countless hours of learning.

Even if you can’t get out to one of our retreats, there is no reason why you can’t have your very own retreat in your home.

Keep learning and discovering all that is in this plant-strong world, so that you have the knowledge and motivation to make great health choices.

I just want to thank you for all you are doing. I am learning from visiting all of these sites often. I think I have it all down then I learn I was wrong about something. It is more complicated then you would think to follow a good healthy plant strong diet. Without Engine2, Jeff Novick, Dr.’s Campbell and Esselstyn, and Mcdougall I would still be trying struggling much harder than I am. I am going to continue following all you have to teach and someday I will have the knowledge.

One of my favorite things to do it watch Dr. McDougall’s lectures on youtube while I eat dinner.

Too funny, I was just going to say I would gladly pay to listen to these lectures. Or, maybe as a teaser, have a 15 min. video
lecture each week that is posted that we can listen to to keep us motivated.

You’re an E2 coach, right? I’m a member – just signed up for the month trial offer last Thursday (6/5/2014). Unfortunately, I forgot my password when trying to sign in on Saturday. I clicked on “password reset” and was informed that an e-mail that would allow me to reset my password had already been sent to me. No e-mail arrived. I repeated the process twice Saturday and once today (Monday 6-9). I also clicked on the “still can’t sign in” option, filled out the required information and submitted the form, but again no response. I really would like be able to log onto the website. My e-mail is: robertfox77@gmail.com

    Thanks!
