Plant-Strong Kids Summer Series! Plus a HUGE giveaway!

Last week we introduced you to an amazing young lady, Izze. Izze’s dream was to go to to amputee camp so that she can meet other great kids, just like her. We asked you to help out in anyway that you could, and we are happy to say that in just one day, Izze raised enough funds to go to camp! We want to thank all of you who helped out financially or by spreading the word.

We said that if we could raise enough money by today we would do our biggest giveaway yet, so that is just what we are doing!

To enter, we want to send Izze as many good wishes as we can! So leave a comment for Izze, we’re sure it will be be nice to have as she gets ready for camp.

The winner will get:

A signed Engine 2 book
A copy of Engine 2 Kitchen Rescue
An Engine 2 shirt
A call from Rip!

We will pick a winner on Wednesday, July 11th. The winner will be picked at random, you did not need to contribute in anyway in order to enter or to win.

Plant-Strong Kids Summer Series

Now, onto some exciting news for all of you parents! Every week in July and August we will have an easy-to-print PDF for kids and parents! Each week we will have articles, games, tips for parents, challenges, recipes and more. At the end of the summer we will have a printable PDF certificate for kids who participated!

        I would like to hear your thoughts about Vegan Shakeology as well. Are you familiar with the supplement? I am a distributor and have been in the fitness industry where supplements are pushed. I attended IIN and my thoughts on health and wellness have changed drastically. I have hung on to my Shakeology business, but I wonder if it is time to let it go. I would appreciate your unbiased opinion about Shakeology, I read the ingredients and think. “wow, really great stuff in here the normal person isn’t getting”. I am not a Dr and would love to hear your thoughts. I would also like to say that I haven’t posted anything like this before because of fear of being “salesy”..but I truly want an unbiased opinion, from a DR and fellow Vegan.

    Have a super time at camp. <3 Make many memories, bring an address book so you can get all your new friends email addresses and mailing address and birthdays. You will be sad if you don't. Another great thing to do it to leave one page per friend; take a picture of each new friend and when you get home, you can paste a picture on the info page of each new frien. That way you will always have a face with their info.

    Hey Izze! I’m so excited for you. I didn’t know what else to say…so here’s a list of fun, harmless pranks to pull at camp.

    1) Have your parents send you a care package with a return address of “Justin Beiber, Los Angeles CA”.
    2) Leave your cabin with your hair in a ponytail. Come back 2 min later with your hair down and say “Quick…tell me what year it is!” When they say “2012″, scream “YES! My time machine works!” Then leave again without another word.
    3) Spread a funny, yet flattering rumor about a camp counselor “Did you know counselor Bob was Tom Cruise’s stunt double in the first mission impossible?”
    (Swear the person you tell to secrecy…it will get around camp much faster.)

    I have at least a dozen more…feel free to e-mail me if you want them…

    Izze – Sometimes I feel so discouraged about trying to get my niece to try plant-based food, since I only have her one night a week and she’s used to eating meat and cheese the rest of the time.     After reading your story last week, I was left in tears. You are amazing in every way possible and I’m glad that your dream was able to come true, all thanks to the E2 community. I know how difficult it can be to be a child of divorced parents who have conflicting views, but I can’t imagine having to deal with a physical handicap on a daily basis.

    If it sounds as if I’m feeling sorry for you because of your situation, I’m not. Feeling sorry for someone doesn’t help the situation or the person involved and I certainly don’t want to come across as doing just that. I want to let you know there is always a light at the “end of the road” to most situations and I’m estatic that you have been able to reach yours.
