About the author

As a firefighter for the Austin Fire Department, he helped people and saved lives. As a friend to other firefighters, he transformed the way Austin ’s Engine 2 firehouse ate in order to save a firefighting brother’s health. Now, as the author of The Engine 2 Diet, Rip is teaching people the irrefutable connection between what they put in their mouths and their ability to reach their ideal weight and their ideal health.

    I just wanted to give you an update of the results I have followed on this diet. I started using your Father’s book and I have recently added your book. I stared in mid June. According to my scales I weighed 330 pounds. (My sister is convinced that I weighed much more. It is likely because my scale only goes to 330 pounds.) According to my scales I now weigh 260 pounds. I am not diabetic but several of my immediate family are. I did have high blood pressure. I had to go off my water pill due to lack of access to a Doctor. I finally had an opportunity to see a Doctor last week and my blood pressure now reads 128/78. The Doctor wanted to know what I had done. I gave her the information and the books. She is going to research them. Only thing she wanted me to take was a b12 tablet. So now I feel like I can walk again. No sign of the asthma that has plagued for 10 years. Yesterday I was able to walk to an office that would have taken me an hour 3 months ago and I reached there in less than 15 minutes. I feel like I have died and gone to heaven. I am person who loves to eat and I have finally found a way of eating that allows to me eat without feeling like I am being deprived. I have never been known as much of a cook. Now people have begun calling me the chef. I have learned to make my own soymilk. I just purchased a soymilk maker. I just wanted to let you know that I am very grateful that you decided to let the world know about this “miracle diet”. Thanks again from Bonnie from Frankfort.
