As a firefighter for the Austin Fire Department, he helped people and saved lives. As a friend to other firefighters, he transformed the way Austin ’s Engine 2 firehouse ate in order to save a firefighting brother’s health. Now, as the author of The Engine 2 Diet, Rip is teaching people the irrefutable connection between what they put in their mouths and their ability to reach their ideal weight and their ideal health.

What are the recipes and are they in The Engine 2 book? They look great. I have been following the Engine 2 diet since July 5th and have lost over 35 pounds. Thanks.

MY WIFE AND I HAVE ENJOYED YOUR ENGINE 2 BOOK, A LOT OF GREAT IDEAS. MY WIFE RECENTLY HAD A POT LUCK WITH SOME OF HER FRIENDS, BUT THEY DIDN’T HAVE A LOT OF IDEAS ON WHAT TO BRING. ALL OF YOUR DISHES LOOK WONDERFUL ABOVE, WAS THINKING THAT THE RECIPES WOULD BE NICE TO HELP PEOPLE WITH IDEAS. THANKS DARREN ALDER

I am a retired cardiologist, who worked at the Cleveland clinic in Research and the open heart surgery team with Kolff, Effler, and Groves. I also worked with Barney Crile in using heat to suppress the growth of tumors in the lab and latter we tried it on humans. I knew Caldwell when he was a resident in gastro-enterology at the clinic.
I am promoting his book among many of my family and friends mainly because I know him and Barney from times gone by. I am trying to contact him and thought that this might be a way to do it. I am on my way to my winter home in Fla. On the way I have stopped at my daughter’s home in Raleigh N.C she is a Cancer sergeon here with a group (Cancer center of N.C.)
I am making some suggestions to her and need to talk to Caldwel and Ann.

    Hi Guys,

I sure do wish I could come to one of your pot luck dinners! Last March, the Boston Globe published your recipe for “Raise-the-Roof” sweet potato vegetable lasagna. I have been dying to try it and finally had the opportunity to make it yesterday for my son’s birthday dinner. (I’m sitting here right now eating what’s left.) I can tell you that I will be making this again and again. It is absolutely delicious and is even better the second day. Everyone LOVED it! The combination of flavors is heavenly if I may say so. Now I’m going to take a look at your book!

    Best,
