Go Plant-Strong!
The Daily Beet: Tips, Advice and Stories

Adventures with Ami: Together

This past weekend we had a holiday workshop at Engine 2 Extra.  We had a host of speakers, cooking demo videos and live chat all weekend long.  It was a delight to spend the weekend with so many of our members.  There was a lot of learning, laughing and just plain fun going on.  I was reminded once again that we are never alone in our endeavors.  At Engine 2, there is always help to be found.  People learn in different ways, sometimes it’s a book or a .pdf file that contains all of the info that makes it easier for them.  Sometimes it is listening to an audio lecture about heart disease.  Others learn better by seeing something done, like in our exclusive E2X cooking demo videos.  We are all so different, yet we all strive for better health.  I love the different avenues for learning that we have in place at Engine 2 Extra.  From our 28 day challenges to interviews with the best advocates in plant-strong living, the wealth of information available is staggering.

We all need to feel supported in our journey. Making the switch to plant-strong living can take time and be lonely sometimes if you are doing it alone.  Like learning, we all need to be supported in different ways.  I have so enjoyed getting to know so many wonderful plant-strong folks over the past couple of years.  This past weekend I was reminded of how much we all want to succeed, be supported, accepted and healthy.  The community we have developed is rich in character and deep in support.  It’s so inspiring to see so many people coming together to share their stories, ideas, recipes, successes, pitfalls and photos each week.  Each day new members are welcomed into the fold of our plant-strong community and are given the opportunity to share, learn, thrive and make new friends.  We get stronger and more populated everyday.  Plant-strong living is becoming less and less outside the norm each year.  Together, I really think that we are getting the word out about the benefits of this lifestyle.
How many people do you know that are plant-strong?  Are you part of a plant-strong family?  Do you have a place where you can share with others who are living a plant-strong life?  From recipe exchanges to pot-lucks, there are so many avenues for meeting up with folks who are a lot like you.  From Facebook Pages to Meetup groups, regional gatherings and online communities with members from all over the world are out there to help keep you connected and provide you with the support that you need.  There are also retreats to attend for those who want to spend a week or a weekend immersed in educating themselves about this life, like our Engine 2 Retreats.
The point is, you should never feel alone on your journey.
We are always here for you!
Keep abreast of what we have going on via our Facebook page, website, twitter feed and instagram.

Together, we can do anything!

Hi Ami, I have a small but growing crew of plant strong friends. I was discouraged twice this week in my conversations “we’re avoiding carbs”…and it was great to have someone remind me that it’s a journey and there are bumps in the road.
