I live in Brazil so most of the approved foods that one can get in American supermarkets are useless to me. I'm just starting the diet and would like to know about what can substitute tortillas, for instance. I can get most of the suggested foods in health food stores and even supermarkets, such as whole grain rice, beans, chickpeas, lentils and so on.

As for breakfast I usually have I cup soy milk, cinnamon and one banana, blended. As I don't like fruits as a whole I love bananas, apples and avocados. Is it enough regarding fruits?

In this program, are snacks allowed( walnuts, dried fruits, raisins, sugarless cereal bars )? Also I get very hungry before going to bed. Suggestions? or is this not allowed?

Can somebody help me there? Thank you!

You could use chapati or pita bread in place of tortillas or even any whole grain unleavened breads that aren't hard as rock so you could use  tortillas. You might even just ignore the tortillas in a recipe.

How about berries added to your fruits, maybe mix with the banana to try to incorporate a wanted flavor with the unfamiliar or unliked.

You can eat when you are genuinely hungry but the snacks that you have listed are very high calorie items. The cereal bars might not be whole grain, look on the ingredients list. If you eat a whole grain or beans with dinner you might not get as hungry right before bed. Try not to eat just before going to bed, it goes right to the hips and stays there. Eat earlier for your night time snack.

Good luck!
