Brand new to all of this and have a few questions.  I am on day 2 and have been using the guidelines but not necessarily the recipes. I have never been much of a veggie or fruit eater so this is all very new for me.  For snacks, I have been using pistachios and almonds, I am not used to eating nuts as most diets consider the calories not worth it, can these sabotage the good I am doing by losing the white flour/rice and moving to whole grain/brown rice?  Also, it is normal to have a headache the first few days?  Finally, with work I have to eat out a lot, any tips for restaurant eating, particularly salad dressing.  Thanks

You should avoid the nuts and pistachios for your snacks, very calorie dense. Eat fruit instead or follow some of the snacks that Rip has listed in the book. It is very normal for a headache to hit in the first few days. It won't last much longer. Lemon juice or vinegar is the easiest salad dressing when eating out. Salad and a baked potato are my staples when eating out. I put the lemon juice or vinegar on both and it is surprisingly tasty.
