Katy Dawson has organized an event that goes beyond a potluck. She has included a film and discussion groups that will be especially helpful to those just starting their PlantStrong or PlantPerfect diets. Here is her announcement:
PlantStrong Community Day
Sunday, February 5, 2012 2:00 – 7:00PM
Golden Gate Masonic Temple
11 West Washington Street, Chagrin Falls, OH
The reception hall is on the second floor. The door is at the northwest corner of the building on the West Washington Street side. I will post a sign on the door.
Join us for our first PlantStrong Community Day! This is designed to be an open forum to allow you to attend either one or two sessions, or the full day.
2:00 – 3:30 Film, Vegucated
Vegucated is an award-winning documentary that follows three meat- and cheese-loving New Yorkers who agree to adopt a vegan diet for six weeks. There’s Brian, the bacon-loving bachelor who eats out all the time, Ellen, the single mom who prefers comedy to cooking, and Tesla, the college student who avoids vegetables and bans beans. 5:00 – 7:00 Potluck dinner
Please bring a dish to share that is either Dr. Esselstyn or Engine 2 approved (Whole food/grain, Vegan, no-oil either way). A copy of the recipe/ingredients would be great. If you are unable to bring something or are still new to the diet and unsure what to make, feel free to still come and enjoy the feast! Fruit or green salads are always appreciated.
If you will be attending earlier sessions, there is a large refrigerator, microwave, stove with several burners, and two ovens available. Also, plates/silverware/glasses/etc. are available but if you plan to use the Lodge's supplies, please be prepared to help us clean up. Otherwise, please bring your own.
Parking is available in the lot across the street and on the street. No alcohol is permitted in the building.
Please join our group and RSVP here or email Katy at kjdawson09@gmail.com. Thanks, and hope you can join us!
