The recipe is in the book but I don't see it here under recipes.  Here is a link to it on the Dr. Oz site:  http://www.doctoroz.com/videos…..fire-drill

The recipe calls for "2 boxes whole grain lasagne noodles" but doesn't say how many ounces.  I have never used 2 boxes of noodles in my 9x13 pan.  My box is 13.5 ounces.  Seems like it will be way too many noodles.  And it calls for "1 pkg. firm tofu".  Again, how many ounces?  And 2 jars of sauce???  If you have made this dish, help me out here P L E A S E.  Making it tonight.  Have sweet potatoes cooking.

And don't cook the noodles!!!  I don't think I can do that.  I have never made lasagne without cooking the noodles first.

The noodles cook with the extra liquid in the recipe. The 2 boxes aren't going to be used completely, there will be some left over. I think the tofu is 14 to 16 ounces normally. Mine is 14 ounces. The sauce is variable according to what you buy. I looked in the book and the recipe there doesn't specify either.

Thanks Cathey.  This will be my post dinner review of the recipe.  I found a better version of the recipe here:  http://vegetarian.about.com/od…..asagna.htm which specified one pkg. silken light tofu which I had on hand.  Also is reviewed by several people.  I used a 13.5 oz pkg. of Ronzoni whole wheat lasagne noodles which I did cook somewhat.  I used 2.5 jars of Muir Glenn Italian Herb pasta sauce which had big lumps of tomato in it which I did not like.  If I use it again, will hit it with the hand blender.  I used it because of all the Muit Glenn sauces at WFs it had the least oil and sugar.

I made the vegetable filling according to the recipe but came out with about twice as much as needed and did not use it all.  Perhaps I just had big vegetables but it was a lot of filling.

My husband, the non vegan, again loved it, my son loved it, but ehhhh, I thought it needed cheese.  I did put the ground cashews on top which did add some cheese color and everyone like the nuts.  But, I say, if you are going to add calories from nuts, why not just add some cheese?  I know the answer but I want cheese.

It was a lot of work and next time I will try to do more ahead of time.  Is it "raise the roof" good?  I didn't think so.

Oh yes, the wine pairing, a pinot noir went very well with it!

If you really need "cheese", you can always try adding Daiya casein-free shredded cheese. Do a taste test first to see if you like it though. I use it to make mac & cheese for my 3 year old – I also add a bit of dijon mustard and a dash of lemon juice to the melted cheese to give it some zing.

Hope this helps (I know it's months later, but you never know!)

Take care,

Nancy :)

I just had to add that I tried the recipe for the first time last night. Instead of sauteing the veggies, I roasted them all at once except for the corn and spinach. Knowing that it is a large recipe, I used my large roasting pan instead of a 9x13 pan. Glad I did! My mashed sweet potatoes were made with the roasted potatoes, so good. I made sauce by seasoning my homemade canned tomato sauce, it took 4 quarts of sauce. I also used fresh spinach.

This was extremely good and I recommend it to everyone!

Rronda,

The first time I made this recipe I too was skeptical about not cooking the noodles but it works.  WF 365 brand of pasta sauce has a fat free version that is very good.  And I panicked the first time I made this too because it did not fit in my lasagna pan.  But now when I make it I plan on two pans and freeze the other one in single servings for a quick dinner.

This may be my favorite E2 recipe!  I think the fact that Rip served it at his wedding says a lot.

And Cathey, the idea of roasting the veggies sounds yummy.  I will try that the next time.
